About Me

My name is David Chatelain, and I am a software developer who revels in the puzzle-solving aspect of writing back end code and the artistry of designing websites on the front end. After earning my PhD in archaeology from Tulane University, I began coding in Python and soon developed an enthusiasm for problem-oriented programming. I have a particular passion for designing elegant tools that organize complex data into clear, user-friendly packages.

My projects have primarily been web applications that organize user-generated data with simple, but powerful, interfaces. I have mostly used Python (Django) with PostgreSQL on the back end, and HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap 4 on the front end. I work on both Linux and Windows environments, and I regularly use Git and GitHub for version control. My projects are deployed using Ubuntu servers with Gunicorn and NGINX, and they all use SSL/TLS.
